A friend recommended this place, so we had a late lunch/early dinner here today and we were very impressed.nnI ordered the kimchi-jjigae, which had the perfect blend of sour, spicy, and savory flavors just how I like it, and my partner ordered the sizzling bulgogi, which had a delicious marinade and super tender beef. We also ordered the sweet and spicy fried chicken wings, which were pretty good.nnOverall, this is a spacious Korean restaurant with delicious food and friendly customer service. We can now see why our friend recommend this place.
Highly recommend Eden Alley or 'n Alley as their sign says, it truly is a great experience in Korean fare. The space is welcoming, there's loads of room and it sure does fill up! We had a table with a lazy Susan, but there is smaller more intimate seating, and banquet style seating too. The service is fantastic, you have a buzzer to call a server and they are really fast and attentive. Then there's the food, it is UHmazing! A lot of it is spicy, but not too hot although I'm sure you could ask for spicier, comes out piping hot and boy oh boy it is tasty. Anyway, blah blah you should definitely try Eden Alley, it will blow your mind.
We have been looking for a Korean place with vegetarian / vegan options for quite a while, so what a nice and pleasant surprise was to find Eden Alley! Well hidden on the first floor off the busy Riccarton, far away from tourist attractions is this hidden treasure. Strangely decorated in British style, but don’t be offering real authentic Korean hospitality and food. From the moment you enter you are greeted by smile and friendly staff. Love also efficiency with the button on the table to press when you are ready to order. We asked for help with vegan options and server was very helpful, explaining different options and making sure we got what we want running back and forth to kitchen. Food was amazing , especially traditional Korean seafood pancakes, bibimbab and tofu hot pot. All well seasoned and spicy. Service was very attentive and even on the way out manager came out to greet us and ask about experience which was appreciated. Absolutely worth coming and well deserved 5 starts for overall experience !! Just parking maybe an issue as there aren’t many options on busy Riccarton Rd.
Embarrassingly enough the weekend was my first ever visit, despite colleagues recommending this place for an age. The food was both served hot and quickly by friendly helpful staff. All dishes we had were flavorful and good value for money. Will most definitely be back.
