The Kitten Inn Facebook page admins are Susan McNair, Wendy Oliver, Samantha Irons and Sinead McNair.

We are registered non profit animal welfare group based in Kelson, Lower Hutt.

We generally have kittens (and sometimes the mother cats once they've been spayed) available for adoption almost all year round.

Our kittens are vacationing at the Kitten Inn while they await collection for their forever homes. During their stay they have become very social and have learnt the ways of the litter-box.

Their innkeeper has kindly had them all desexed and vaccinated, microchipped, registered and regularly treated for worms and fleas.

A minimum donation of $150 is required to cover costs.

We adopted our two cats from kitten Inn. They are now seniors. Our kids love growing up with them. Thanks Susan and all the volunteers!
I'm so glad we visited Kitten Inn, we found our beautiful little cat here! The care and advice from the volunteers is exceptional, and the cost to adopt a kitty is unbelievably good value! So happy!!
Got 2 amazing new friends from here. We named one Yoda and the other one Minky. Had a few vet visits in the first couple of weeks having them but no major issues . They are both thriving and we love them emensely
I was a very lucky recipient of our beautiful baby boy Buzz on Christmas Eve a huge surprise my Husband and son were determine to find my perfect gift . I did hear how the lady at kitten inn was amazing . So as a family we look forward to getting Buzz a little brother and I can be part of the selecting this time
Came for a high tea. The place was clean and tidy. Love how there is always someone watching the kittens and guests. Felt a bit odd going into someones house to use the bathroom. Kittens appear well looked after. Crockery was nice but I expected more food. Were told a few stories about animals that had been abused and then surrendered to the inn that we could have done without while eating.
Kittens were absolutely adorable as were the turtles and the high tea was delicious
My neighbour and his young children adopted their first ever family pets from Kitten Inn several weeks ago. Two gorgeous Kittens they named Ben and Timmy. Several hours after arriving home with them, they started to make coughing and wheezing noises. I said it was important to contact Kitten Inn and let them know the situation. It required several days of calling before anyone at Kitten Inn answered the phone. My neighbour was told by the staff member that from the point of adoption the Kitten is no longer the responsibility of Kitten Inn and that they should use the free pet insurance to have the Kitten treated at a vet clinic. A trip to the vet and Ben and Timmy were diagnosed with cat flu. Ben's health deteriorated quickly after. He required fluid therapy and syringe feeding. He was lethargic, anorexic and coughing up blood tinged mucous. He would cry whenever he was touched and had difficulty breathing. Ben died a week after being adopted from Kitten Inn. The vet said his cat flu travelled to his lungs and turned into pneumonia. He was 12 weeks old. The pet insurance claim for hundred's of dollars of veterinary treatment was denied. Ben was sick at the time he was adopted so it is considered a pre existing condition and therefore not covered. I have laid an animal welfare complaint with Wellington SPCA and would recommend anyone that find themselves in a similar situation with Kitten Inn to do the same.
Got our young girl, Charity, from Kitten Inn. These people are doing a great job looking after and rehoming kittens and cats. Give them all the support you can. UPDATE: In January 2020 we went back and got a second female, Marmalade. Yep she's a ginger. We had a hard start as she was so badly mistreated by previous people, hiding underneath anything she could fit into. But now she has adjusted to our love and seeks maximum attention wherever possible. Thank you Kitten Inn.
Love this place. They are very dedicated to their cause. Its always very clean and the cats are well cared for. I especially like it how they foster all the cats and kittens out to fosterers. The High Teas are an amazing experiance.
The kitten inn got me back on my feet. I was in a deep dark hole and they were the rope that slowly helped to pull me out. They are amazing people and do the most spectacular job. Anyone who says otherwise must be kidding themselves. All I can say is thank you Kitten Inn.
