We had kitesurfing guidance from Wiebke for two days, and we LOVED it!! She gave actionable, real-time instruction and advice, encouragement when we needed it, and plenty of room to experiment with stuff and ask questions. She clearly loves what she does and is a master at it. Adding to that was the high-quality equipment and a really safe, inviting beach to launch from. I highly recommend Kitescool and Wiebke for both beginners like our friends with us and those with experience like me and my wife. We had a blast!!
I can only recommend the kite school to everyone. Wiebke and the entire coaching team try very hard and put their heart and soul into it. The lessons are clearly structured and you learn quickly. In addition, the spot is very suitable for beginners. Thank you for the great time, Elias.
Fab school. Very individualised approach progressing at the speed that was appropriate for us. Really cool teachers. We did the 3 day lesson and feel confident now to head out to practice the skills we learned! Would definitely recommend.
Wiebke is an awesome teacher. I had great success learning to fly under her guidance; the right balance of knowledge, modelling, feedback and encouragement. I purchased 3 lessons over a series of days and felt pretty well-prepared after that... perhaps one more to consolidate everything would be perfect! Thanks heaps for your patience. Cheers, Chris.
Warren and Wiebke and their staff are amazing. They are so passionate about kiteboarding and teaching others it's easy to see why people say Kitescool is the best place to learn to kite in NZ. They taught me, my dad and about of dozen of my friends, local and visiting alike. If you have ever wanted to get into kiting give them a call and get out on the water!
I am surprise and I am sad to rate so low but I have to sincerely value my experience. I did not like the course un general, I did not enjoy it and I did not feel comfortable during my 3-day course. It may be that my low level of English has influenced. The difficulty in understanding explanations and orders will have influenced. But it was not only language the problem. I am sad because I have not connected to the Kite Surfing, and I think the instructor has influenced it. I have to say that I am also an instructor of other sports, and that experience gives me a different perspective when I receive lessons. I have the ability to perceive when the instructor is really enjoying and is happy and loves what he does. That is not just mandatory and routine work. I am able to feel that energy, and in this course I have not found it. I think we all have the right to have good and bad days. But when you give lessons you have to try to get rid of everything and transmit good energy to your students, because they perceive it. And only when we enjoy ... We learn. I hope my criticism is constructive, I only do it with that intention. If it wasn't, I wouldn't worry about writing all this.
What an experience; I spent the past three months in Nelson and had the time of my life! Fantastic spot to learn kitesurf and improve your skills! Flat shallow water and consistent winds guarantee the best experience! Very grateful to Warren, Wiebke and the all team for looking after me; Not just wind and kite, Nelson is a beautiful town with loads to offer and there is plenty of hills, bays, caves and valleys to explore in no wind days! Go try it;
Perfect! After the 3rd kitesurfing school finally a kitesurfing school that taught us how to kite properly. We learned in the first 4 hours as much as at the previous kite school in one week. Wiebke is a great teacher with a lot of experience! If you finally want to kite properly you should come here. Super equipment and good atmosphere. Definitely to recommend.
What a wonderful team at kitescool! They’re all about fun and safety! Very friendly and helpful. Great teachers. Can certainly recommend them! 5 stars from me. Not sure what the one star review was about - he must of missed his coffee that day!
Awesome experience, I learnt to kite with Warren & Wiebke years ago but then hadn’t continued due to lack of time. I decided to give it another crack and Warren got me back flying the kites and into the water ASAP. The best bit was his observations and corrections solved some of the issues I’d never managed to over come years ago and was buzzing for days. Professional but relaxed and fun - Highly recommended
