Stayed there for two nights in January 2025. A review was first submitted through Booking.com. suite on second floor, supposedly to have full front sea view, however, it was partially blocked by adjacent building. Unable to lock balcony door. Staff checked it out and promised to fix it next morning, but never did. It has a faulty locking mechanism. I used my belt to lock it.nnFront desk failed to address the situation. First, I requested the adjacent room, same suite category, but was told it was taken. It appeared unoccupied while we were there. Second, failure to address the balcony door problem.
We stayed at the Kingsgate Hotel and it was brilliant. Excellent location. Very friendly reception staff. Breakfast was fabulous. Studio Rooms were perfect . Clean and everything we needed. Large pool. Right next to the wharf and shops. No traffic noise. Highly recommend staying here. 10/10
Simple place - a bit dated but I'd never expect brand new places in rural areas.nnStunning views though and great location. Has plenty of free parking for guests.
Spent three weeks here and it was amazing. Rooms are great, the view is stunning the staff are amazing especially boss Tom, Trina and the filipino waitress absolutely loved our stay. Thanks team
Sorry about the 3 star.nnThe staff is very nice, they are polite with positive service attitudes no matter what happens.nnMy 3 star reviews comes from two sides, firstly my room is without an air conditioning operation. I mean, I do see a machine on the wall but I don't have a remote control to turn it on. Staff replied it's out of order so they're waiting for the new one to be delivered.nnOkay, luckily I can open the window for some air.nnSecondly, the WiFi is such a nightmare. Probably the worst I ever seen in NZ, can't even allow me to watch YouTube.nnI had no choice but to burn my own data for the 3 days 2 nights.nnIt's a lovely motel, clean, excellent location, it's just a bit off particularly the WiFi, still can't believe in 2024 I am experiencing dial connection kind of internet speed service.nnRestaurant meets expectations, the staff there is very friendly and lovely.nnOh, by the way, basically no sound proof, I can easily hear people walking by my door, chatting, guests from upstairs or next door their kids are having fun, adults are gossiping.
