Delightful night out dining in the what was once the bank vault. Was great to meet Grant & listen to his stories - working for Gordon Ramsay being one of them. Grants service was professional & friendly in a word, superb.nThere was a great wine selection & many by the glass.nThe food was beautifully cooked and presented & we didn’t have to wait long.nDeserts were beautiful & enjoyed.nWould definitely recommend & encourage you to check it out for yourself.nnThe attention to detail of the interior design is stunning, with an eclectic mix of furniture, art works, lighting, even the restrooms are worth a visit!nWhile the building is old, it has a lovely blend of modern touches without losing the charm & character of the building. Make sure you take a wander.nWe felt it was great value for money & thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
We enjoyed a delicious meal at Karahui when we stayed in Martinborough. I had the duck leg which was delicious and my partner had the snapper which she said was very good! For dessert we shared the chocolate terrine which was a very nice dessert - the richness of the chocolate was balanced nicely with some orange zest jelly and espresso mousse. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating! The inside of the restaurant is very nice as well, it had a great atmosphere for our date night! Definitely worth popping in for a meal if you are in the area!

My husband and I spent three nights in Martinborough and we found ourselves gravitating to Karahui each night of our stay. The food, drinks, service, and overall atmosphere were just that good. The fish dishes are fresh and vibrant; you get perfectly cooked vegetables with every dish; the sauces are spot on; the lamb rack was exceptional; and the side dishes were all so good, I can’t pick a favorite. The cocktails were our favorite in NZ with a great drink and food happy hour from 4:30-5:30 and the wine list is expansive and very well priced. Angie was our server and provided a level of hospitality, expertise, and warmth you’d except in a Michelin restaurant. If you want a high-quality experience without the stuffiness and costly ticket price, this place can’t be beat. We were thrilled to find this gem in the cute town of Martinborough.
Food was so good, had the cured Salmon and Venison loin which was next level. Sides and wines rounded things off perfectly. Only thing that just missed the mark was the fish which was a touch over. Other than that picky thing to note everything was spot on. Staff were so helpful as we’re happy to switch us to an outside table so we could enjoy an awesome warm evening. Recommended…
