Story

Fill your life with good friends, good times & good food #KapitiFoodFair, Sat 2 Dec 2017, Paraparaumu, Mazengarb Reserve, 10am-3pm.

A showcase of New Zealand food & beverage including the united nations of ready to eat foods and manufactured and F&B related products. A great event to shop for gifts or to stock-up your pantry.

The Kapiti Food Fair started with humble beginnings in 2009 with mainly home based producers. It has since grown to include commercial and home based producers and a huge variety of ready to foods. Celebrity Chefs over the years have included Martin Bosley, Simon Holst, Nadia Lim, Karena & Casey Bird, Annabelle White and Jason van Dorsten of Cafe Hanoi in Auckland.

Vendors from all around NZ are attracted to the Fair and we have become anchored in to the annual F&B event calendar.

The Fair always runs in the first Sat in December and the day before the popular Thorndon School fundraising fair on the first Sun in December. Many of our vendors do both events so commercially it works for them.

The Fair includes an entertainment programme and a celebrity chef public demonstration and Fair walk about. From 2016 a licenced bar was set-up selling beer, wine and cocktails for visitors to wash down their tasty treats.

The Fair runs rain or shine and ATM cash is available for visitors. Vendors are encouraged to have their own mobile Eftpos.

Kapiti Rotary is a supporter of the Fair. The Fair has a social conscience and donates to their Charitable Trust for distribution to Kapiti youth charities and Kapiti Food Bank.

Visitor attendance is 9,000+

Absolutely wonderful event. I performed at this years event and also got to experience it as a fair-goer prior to my performance, the organisation is seamless, the passion that goes into this fair is next level and I cannot recommend you experience this great day out enough!
Bloody good day out. Great that they let dogs in. Our dog had a great time. Elemental Foods Mushroom and Pumpkin Kumara Crust Pie was a highlight.
Awesome atmosphere, great range of stalls and food, fantastic weather.
Dec2020.. The day was damp, but not the event. A great variety of fresh food.. Hot spicy veggie meaty savoury sweet drink..non alcohol and the R18 stuff entertainment.. 2 stages with continuous acts happening. A place to enjoy good tastings, meet up with friends, wave at others and wonder where you've met before. Space to move, places to sit and listen watch rest. Really good venue, big enough to lose your partner if you wish but small enough that you can't, even if you tried. After the year we have had, the locals were really pleased this went ahead and there were even out of towners joining us.
A fantastic day out for everyone and a great place to meetup with friends along Kapiti coast. Quality products locally grown and crafted, you are spoiled for choice. Local breweries selling beer, cider, gin and wine. Convoy of food trucks catering for everyone’s appetites. I loved the German sausage truckvery tasty. Outdoor entertainment provided from a local band and seating in front stage. Ample parking. It did rain towards end but good food and meeting of friends did not put a damper on fair.
Always an excellent day out. Huge variety, safe, fun. Bump into people you know - very social. Great for all ages. For our kids they loved going, and now they in early 20's still look forward to it each year and spend the whole day there with friends.
Love this market so much goodness
Great variety but needed more shaded areas to sit
