You can shorten your restricted period by attending a STREET TALK defensive driving course. This course will help everyone become a safer driver by gaining current knowledge and in-car skills. Visitors to New Zealand will benefit from 1 or 2 driving sessions to get used to NZ road conditions. An assessment of these sessions will help you with areas to concentrate on.
