About Kaiteriteri Beach
Kaiteriteri Beach is a small beach-side town in the scenic Nelson Bays / Tasman region at the top of New Zealand’s South Island featuring one of New Zealand’s most beautiful beaches. Even with a population of only around 700 residents Kaiteriteri Beach is a popular holiday destination, with the local campgrounds being booked up often months before the Summer holidays begin.
The main beach, estuary, and much of the land around Kaiteriteri is all classified as Recreation Reserve, and as such is all managed and administered by the Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve Board.
The Board oversees the reserve’s facilities and its role includes the preservation and protection of the natural and historic features, and is responsible for managing and administering, not only the beach itself, but also the Campground, Mountain Bike Park, Reserve Store, Shoreline Café & Restaurant, and 250 hectares of Reserve land.

What makes Kaiteriteri one of New Zealand’s best beach holiday destinations?
With glittering golden sands, its beautiful blue-green water and Four Star Plus, holiday park accommodation Kaiteriteri Beach attracts New Zealanders and international tourists alike. Kaiteriteri Beach has some of the most sunshine hours in New Zealand with long summers and clear winters inviting year-round leisure activities. A modern playground, mountain bike park and organised activities for kids makes Kaiteriteri a favourite family holiday spot. Typically calm waters make the boat ramp a busy launch point for boaties venturing into the bay for watersports or fishing. Beachside kayak hire caters for both learners wanting to paddle close to the shore and the more adventurous kayaking enthusiasts wanting to venture out.
Its also the departure point for many visitors travelling by boat into the Abel Tasman National Park
