Story

Kahurangi Estate is a New Zealand family owned boutique vineyard specialising in hand-made wines. The vineyard was first established in the early 1970’s and has some of the oldest commercial vines in the South Island. The Day family purchased the vineyard in 1998 and changed the name to Kahurangi Estate



"North Eatery is located at Heaphy Vineyards in Upper Moutere only 20 mins from Richmond or Motueka. We are open for wine tasting 7 days a week. Our cafe serves a range of nibbles to enjoy in the courtyard with a glass of wine or local craft beer. The wood fired pizza oven runs Friday - Monday. Come say hi & try our delicious Heaphy wines."

Could not fault anything about this place for lunch today. Service, food, wine, music and weather all combined to make for a great experience. If you are thinking about a visit, definitely make the time!
We love to visit North Eatery because the welcome is always top class and friendly. To back this up they serve wonderful pizza and yummy salads. It is a relaxed and pleasant experience all round. Oh and the wines are superb. Our pick to accompany the pizza is the Montpulciano. Thanks guys you never disappoint ourselves and our guests. Arohanui.
This place is amazing. Real genuine Italian style pizza. World class with a great menu and some of the best wines in the region! This is a must visit and the outdoor area is stunning. Tom and Erin will look after you.
Cricky, had worst customer experience up the road from here, so came here as excited about reviews, beginning felt a bit frosty when we didnt want food just in for wine tasting, person behind the bar didn't want eye contact and to really sell the wine - which is what we love, hearing about the wine and how it is made the wine maker etc... but she warmed, but come on sell your product, be in love with it, we walked out with 4 goodies, should of done atleast 6 bottles as amazing pinot gris and rose, BUT maybe go to other wine regions and see how they passionately sell their product and make youlove them and their wine.. would do wonders!

Here you go guys. A hidden gem in the Moutere. And one our regular places we go to. Superb pizzas. Sensational wine. Sensational service. And in a relaxing space nestled in the country. If you havent been there . Then do yourself a favour and go. You wont be disappointed.
Food was awesome Tom made us feel extremely welcome and service was on top form. Wood fired pizza was definitely the way to go highly recommend if your passing a quick stop to try the wine or a nice chilled lunch.
Absolutely fabulous, pizza and brussel sprout salad gorgeous. Service was the best and wines to top off
