We stayed in a large bright room, simply and elegantly furnished as was our across the hall bath that had tall windows on two sides and a beautiful mural over the very comfortable bed. We were invited to share the spacious upstairs living room again with tall, bright windows with a city view with our hosts and other guests, had there been any. Our hosts were exceptionally generous and hospitable with us--friendly and interesting to boot! Joyce made cookies, which she put in the little shared downstairs kitchenette which also had coffee, tea and a small fridge. Their place near downtown up a steep hill--and only a steep hop skip and jump from a stunning botanical garden a lush, diverse valley full of life that looks straight out of an Avatar set. Great location, great people, great facility--who could ask for more?
Best WiFi in Wellington! And wonderful hosts too! Cannot praise this place enough. Breakfast delicious, plenty of fresh fruit and a real coffee, Phil shouldn't give up his day job to be a barista, but it's still pretty good and I'm from Melbourne and pretty picky about my coffee . Did I mention how good the wifi was? I'll just say it again - fantastic, zero lag when video chatting to family back home in Aus and not a dodgy area of reception anywhere. Beautiful place with a really nice lounge area. If I ever have to visit Wellington again and I think I most likely will I will be staying here if possible. There were a couple of beers in the fridge for me when I arrived, and a tub of Joyce's home made cookies. For a beautiful spot right in Wellington to explore whilst on holiday, or a incredibly convenient location near many NZ Govt ministry buildings if you're in town for work, this place is a great location. Whilst I did walk a bit to get to some of the best craft beer pubs I've visited, nothing in Wellington is more than 20 mins away and the walking might have helped work off some of the beer calories. Lovely people, lovely house, incredibly convenient. Five stars isn't enough. Why stay at hotel when this is an option!

To be fair I frequently visit the neighbour's... I have never been there... But it's always busy... And it's a beautiful place to visit...
