It is a real pleasure to be able to write a recommendation for Joanna Simpson at Tommy's Wellington. We listed our property for sale with Joanna after having met her when we were looking to buy. As potential buyers, we were very impressed with her honesty, helpfulness, and professionalism, so we had no hesitation listing our property with her when the time came to sell. We were trying to sell in a very difficult market and during winter. Joanna did an absolutely outstanding job with the marketing of our house. The promotion online was excellent and we had lots of private viewings and visitors to our open homes; anecdotally, we know that we got many more viewings than other properties that were listed around the same time. Joanna gathered a lot of feedback from buyers that really helped us understand the market and what we could expect. When a likely prospective buyer emerged, she worked with both us and them to negotiate a good price. If we were to specify Joanna’s major strength as an agent, it is that she gives honest and straightforward advice. She does not just tell you what you want to hear but is clear about the market, pricing, marketing, and buyers’ feedback. This is really invaluable as it helps sellers get a handle on what’s really going on with their particular property, rather than the hype or the coverage in the media about the housing market. Everything she advised us to do paid off and we appreciated that she was willing to have frank conversations about what needed to happen to get a sale. Anyone can sell a house when the market is booming; it is much harder to get good results when things are flat or dropping. Joanna’s work for us proved the value of having an excellent and committed agent who really understands the market. We wouldn't hesitate to use Joanna again and we recommend her to anyone who is looking to sell.
I can't fault Phil Mears and his team. Their communication and dedication to working for me was outstanding. I was Auckland based, but Phil made the sale of my home in a difficult market, that much easier. I would highly recommend Phil to sell your property.
Sam Newble and Ben Ryan helped us sell our house in Berhampore in August 2022. This was a very challenging time in the market, but they managed to get us four offers in just under a month by deadline sale with a very good result. Their communication and support throughout the process was fantastic, from initial appraisal and advice on the process, to setting the 'offers over' price, and also advising us on strategy for making offers on our new home in Lower Hutt. Highly recommended.
I bought my first home through Sam Newble at Tommy's and was really impressed by his sincerity, efficiency and willingness to go above beyond to make sure that things were in order in my new home. If I sell in the future, I'll be calling Sam!

I have used Tommy's when buying and selling, and the service I received was of a very high standard on both occasions. We first bought a house through Bill Mathieson and it quickly became apparent that we were dealing with a man of integrity and honesty, with a wealth of experience in the Wellington market. The choice of who to sell with was easy, and Bill together with Mark Hamilton did an incredible job marketing and selling our house, achieving a great result for us and keeping us well informed on progress throughout the entire process. I strongly recommend Bill and/or Mark if you are looking to sell, you will not be disappointed.
Alexia is the best agent I have encountered in real estate; she is an amazing person and really genuinely wants to do her best for you. She goes the extra mile; she didn’t just sit back and let open homes take place; she was always having private viewings and actively trying to sell our home. She kept us fully informed every step of the process any questions we had were always answered quickly and thoroughly. She is a true professional with a great sense of humour. I would recommend Alexia to anyone who wants a straight up, honest, reliable agent who will work endlessly for you to sell your house.
Sam Newble sold our house in Hataitai for us, and we can’t thank or recommend him highly enough. He is a consummate professional.
