I loved the Jail theme of this hostel, the idea of rooms being a prison cell is cool the building was a yesteryear jail. The room was comfortable and the common area was big. Location of the hostel is top notch and all Christchurch attractions are walkable. Also plenty of restaurants next to the hostel. I also loved the fact that you don't need a physical card or key to unlock your room. I will definitely recommend this hostel.
Very comfortable hostel! At first I thought it might feel weird since it used to be a functioning jail, but the vibes are fantastic. Very bright and welcoming. Two cute hostel cats that love pats in their front yard. Full of fascinating exhibits on the inside as well which were so interesting to read. Highly recommend
Very cool historical location, and is packed with information describing the significance of the Jailhouse. The receptionists were very gracious, and it is well maintained and pleasantly managed.nnMy only qualm is the extremely spotty WiFi connection. Considering the Jailhouse is within a fairly urban setting, I’d expect better.
Nice place to spend some nights. Very clean, friendly staff. Spots to relax, kitchen you can use, tv rooms, pool table. Loved that people from all age came here.
Loved this hostel, for the novelty if nothing else. The room was basic but had everything we needed, and the beds were comfy.nToilet/shower facilities were good and so was the kitchen.nThe building itself is chilly, but you're provided with extra duvets and heaters. ONLY down side is that sound does travel here due to the nature of the building, so louder guests can be heard echoing through the halls, but this isn't the fault of the accommodation.nWould deffo stay here again :
