Came by after dinner to grab something sweet. They were alright with us just coming for dessert. It was quite large inside, which looks like they separate the dining and bar areas. Although we just came for dessert, friends also got decaf coffee martini. I grabbed a hot chocolate and the chocolate brownie. The hot chocolate was ok, a bit milky but ok flavour. The brownie, on the other hand, was really good, particularly with the candy floss all over it. Nice and rich with ice cream on the side. We all grabbed different desserts and were mostly pleased. The vanilla square was a bit hard and was definitely not what we expected. The food was nice and the staff were quite friendly. The place was nice but I'd guess it would be a different environment if it was full.
Average experience really. Nice outdoor seating. Hit and miss staff. We had duck fat chips ok, burger sliders ok and pork belly bites divine. If you want more of a taste experience, this isn't for you. For a pleasant sit down, this would be a good option.
Stopped in for a nice breakfast it's lovely sitting by the Waters Edge lots of people walking riding past so good to look at. I had the burger with nice big chunky chips it was delicious the wife had the big breakfast it was nice large serving and the sausage was very delicious. It was a slightly cool morning and they had blankets on offer to put over your knees.
Brilliant food options. Well cooked and carefully presented meals. Nice decor and ambience, decent music choice. An ideal location with ample parking within 5 minutes walking distance. Rustic, yet trendy. Live music on Wednesdays which is a welcome change. Slightly on the expensive side. $70~$100 for drinks and dinner for 2.
Came here for dinner on Saturday night, place was busy but you can book online so makes it super easy. Food was amazing and service was pretty good. Menu is really diverse so had heaps of options to choose from. Would for sure come back.
Loved the food, loved the atmosphere and had the most superb and welcoming service from Patel sorry if I got that name wrong I didn't quite catch it clearly
Love the food. Highly recommended place if you looking for a good meal
Jack Tar is a place where you can chill with your friends and family in a relaxed open arena with a full view of the viaduct harbor. It's atmosphere gives you a very comfy vibe. It's a busy place and the waiters know how to retain their customers even during a busier period. I have been their over 5 times. Their BERRY COLADAis a winner! Please try this cocktail. Jack's catch and Prawn & Sweet chilli pizza is a mouth watering dish to have. If you feel like catching up with your buddies and stay at ease, snuggle up to Jack Tar's. I have attached a few photos of the food that I've had there.
Loved the food here. I was expecting just the usual sports bar fare but I was quite surprised! I'm not a fan of sports bars/bistros but this one was the exception.
Went there last Thur for dinner.Service was excellent despite very busy night.Steak was good, snacks -fresh and tasty, and Guiness-perfect as usual.
