Story

IT’s Accessible believe that everyone has a purpose in life and aims to motivate and equip the adult disabled, some of whom have no ability to move without aid and can be confined to their beds most of the time.

Our aim is to bring inclusion and belonging to people with disabilities. Join us in our learning journey as we share and explore evidence-based practices for including learners with different abilities, qualities and needs.

Getting access to Information Technology, the physically disabled are enabled not only to access their own community, they can help build other communities on the Worldwide Web.

In this way IT’s Accessible offers a win / win solution to Inspire and Enabling Communities. We supply affordable website design & hosting services for the non for profit voluntary community sector on a super-fast NZ server Iserve, ideal for community websites using WordPress.

Our team helps educate other physically disabled using mostly free education resources available on the internet e.g. video tutorials and distance learning courses. Our aim is to make the use of 4 available computers at the Harrison Ford Centre located at the Auckland Spinal Rehabilitation Unit, Otara and obtain funding for 2 computers for the Elevate Christian Disabilities Centre.

As a registered charitable entity in terms of the Charities Act 2005 CC49580, IT’s Accessible is seeking sponsorship for funding from multiple business communities who want to align with us to further our goals of Inspiring and Enabling Communities using collaboration, goodwill and IT.

To support our funding initiatives we are gathering information by using surveys which will allow us to collect information so that we can compile a feasibility study to produce helpful statistics.

With funding our trust can build a IT team from those that would otherwise be isolated in the community. Working on an IT team these severely disabled can actively develop different skills needed to create and maintain the trust`s projects. What are the benefits of IT’S Accessible to the local community?

We access the disabled in centres and there homes enabling them to become active members of there local community through accessible education.

We provide affordable websites to the non for profit volunteer community organizations.

What are the outcomes of IT’S Accessible s Charitable Trust to the local communities?

The disabled become motivated and inspired giving them vocational possibility, making them inclusive in society and benefiting the local community instead of draining its resources.

The non for profit voluntary organizations can access custom IT resources without the constraints of having to pay for them before they are on-line. Enabling them to provide on-line information making them more accessible for fundraising initiatives.
