High Quality Early Childhood Education
Island Bay Kindergarten runs four different services, providing plenty of options to parents. Kura Tamaiti and Kura Pepe options provide whānau with a long or short drop-off session. Our Isola playgroup arose out of a community need to support parents with younger children. Isola operates five days a week and is a wonderful way to meet other families in the neighbourhood as well as provide your child with stimulating learning experiences in a resource-rich environment. Our new Isola Day sessions give whānau a chance to attend the playgroup in the morning, then leave their child for an extended play at Kindergarten up until the session ends at 2:30pm.
Island Bay Kindergarten supports a whānau-based model and the tuakana-teina relationship—where older children and younger children learn from and alongside each other. Although we provide many different services, we operate as one learning community and all whānau are welcome across all services.
We are a welcoming, caring, fun, and creative kindergarten where we inspire children to follow their own curiosity. We believe that learning begins from a place of aroha, safety, and belonging. Our teachers are all 100% qualified and registered.
We also have a great working relationship with Island Bay School next door and St. Francis de Sales. Teachers are able to organise visits for children as they transition to school.
We are a nut free kindergarten.
