Story

Growing up, Angus and Elliot Syme were out catching possums with their Dad since they were 6 years old. Over the last 8 years, the areas they have been possuming in have seen a huge increase in the number of Bellbirds, Tuis, and Wood Pigeons. Possum by possum, these boys from Canterbury are returning birdsong back to the forests.

And we think this is pretty cool.

The New Zealand possum has become one of the greatest threats to our natural environment. Introduced to New Zealand in 1837 to establish a fur trade, the possum destructively eats both native bush and native bird’s eggs. This is where we come in. Specialising in turning pests into masterpieces, we create high-quality, ethically sourced possum fur products using 100% New Zealand-made materials and local craftsmanship. Our possums are caught in the stunning South Island of New Zealand, where the birdlife continues to grow and flourish.
