GP Mono/Moto 3 racing motorcycle design and manufacture.
iM Moto is a small business established in New Zealand to design, build, test, race and manufacture a sport and price competitive GPMono racing motorcycle for the global market.
Our motorcycle, the iM250, uses New Zealand sourced chassis, suspension, exhaust, engine and electronics expertise and designs along with globally sourced cycle parts. We use the KTM 250SXF power plant and the motorcycle design takes cues from the Honda HRC RS125 GP motorcycle.
Our iM250 Pre-Moto3 motorcycle uses Griffith Performance Racing GPR 006 tubular mild steel trellis chassis, GPR modified RS125 swingarm, Ohlins TTX36 rear shock absorber, Kiwi Suspension Solutions (KSS) modified Showa front forks, 2013 KTM 250 SXF engine, Honda RS125 radiator, Suter slipper clutch, KTM ignition and fuel injection, Brembo brakes, titanium exhaust, Marchesini Magnesium wheels with Bridgestone racing slick tyres, iM250 airbox and ram-air induction, KTM 2014 Moto3 fairings, AIMSports MyChron3 digital dash, QStarz GPS data logging.
We have dyno tested the bike with our earlier 2007 engine to approximately 47 horsepower with 20-22 ftlb of torque at 12,500 rpm, but with a very wide 5000 rpm spread of power and torque. The new 2013 engine will exceed this figure. Handling of the motorcycle exceeds that of the Honda RS125.
