Illusion Day Spa
A retreat created to indulge your senses and well being, offering affordable pampering for all your beauty needs.

Owned and operated by Jessie Angell who has had four and a half years experience working as a beauty therapist in New Plymouth.

Jessie studied at the New Zealand Institute of Beauty Therapy and Electrolysis, qualifying with Cidesco, Cidesco Spa and Cibtac.

Jessie is passionate about fulfilling her clients needs while maintaining their privacy.

Having worked with a wide range of beauty products, Illusion Day Spa is excited to exclusively offer you Medik8, Pure Fiji and Young Blood.

Medik8 is the British skin research company pioneering cosmecutical technologies to make the most effective ingredients suitable for even the most sensitive skin, yet crucially without compromising efficacy. Medik8 skin care can be used by everyone.

Pure Fiji is locally grown and produced in Fiji, using virgin coconut oil and drift nut oils which are cold pressed in Fijian villages using a process that preserves the natural benefits and nutrients found in the oils. Come in and choose your favourite fragrance. Six to choose from.

Young Blood make up is for all ages and skin types even the most sensitive skins, the make up is free of parabens, petroleum, mineral oil, talc artificial dyes, artificial fragrances, irritants and harsh chemicals. Skin will radiate a youthful glow.

I offer a wide range of massages to suit any clients needs from pregnancy, relaxation to pressure point.

I recently had a pedicure with charity and it was truly a rejuvenating experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the owner, setting the tone for a relaxing session. The atmosphere was tranquil, and the ambiance instantly put me at ease. The pedicure itself was exceptional. The technician was skilled and attentive, ensuring that every step was executed with care and precision. I left feeling refreshed and pampered, with my feet looking and feeling amazing. Overall, I highly recommend Illusion Day Spa & Boutique for anyone in need of some self-care and relaxation. The experience was top-notch, and I can't wait to return for another indulgent treat.
I won’t go anywhere else! Charity does an amazing job. She is careful, thorough, and goes above and beyond to make sure your nails are perfect. The salon is so clean and calming, and the products in the boutique are amazing. I always leave in a great mood, and my nails have never looked better.
Illusion Day Spa is an oasis of relaxation and rejuvenation. I am a regular with manicures and pedicures, and have also enjoyed many of the other services provided as well. The ambiance is refreshing, and I feel myself just melting into the comfortable chairs! Charity is an expert in all-things beauty and is thorough with each service. My cuticles are always polished and my skin is left feeling like velvet! I personally also love supporting a local, family-owned business. Illusion Day Spa is community-centric in that they have sponsored local sports teams for kids, provided donations to schools, and volunteered at charity events. Overall, Illusion Day Spa is paradise! A one star review would be generous. Worst salon experience I’ve ever had. Charity was very rude and offensive throughout the whole service gel manicure, talked about herself and put others down the entire time, and was checking messages on her watch excessively during the manicure. She then upcharged me by $30 at end of service without telling me!!!! She blocked my phone number and me from her booking site before I even had the chance to contact her about needing my money back. Not to mention the nails she did were absolutely horrible, so bad it kind of made me think she has no knowledge or experience in doing nails at all. So clumpy and the design was awful and not what I asked for at all. Throughout the manicure she said things like “I don’t know how other nail techs get the designs to look so good” and “you gave me a big challenge today but I think I managed”… she did not manage and they did NOT look good. 0/10. Waste of time, waste of money, will never return and neither will her customer who recommended her to me. This is not a real salon DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!
Very clean and organized salon. There is a big selection of dip powders. I received a basic gel manicure. Services were done in a timely manner & my nails came out nice and neat.
Illusion is the full package! They use high quality and organic products, and offer a variety of services. The atmosphere is relaxing and no matter Service I get I always leave feeling pampered. Everyone is very knowledgeable and friendly. I’ve been getting my nails done by Charity for over a year and she’s done incredible work. Once you’ve received a facial from Marai you’ll be sure to make it a regular thing. My troubles melt away and I leave with fresh glowing skin!
First time going to this nail salon as a walk-in first thing in the morning , charity and her husband John greeted me with a warm friendly welcome & got me seated right away ! After talking to charity, she informed me that it’s better to book an appointment for the simple fact it’s just her & her husband , which is understandable. It’s well worth calling and making an appointment because of services being phenomenal , clean , professional , and also they TAKE THEIR TIME! I will refer her to anyone from now on & will make sure she knows she has a client for good because I will continue to come back!
I went in for the very first time to have a gel manicure and they took me immediately. Shy did and amazing job and new exactly what I wanted. The salon is clean and well organized, prices are responsible. I will be back and will have a pedicure as well soon. Thanks so much!
