Ijebu Pleasure Club takes you to Nigeria in 1985, where a small town Afrobeat band have just been told they need to play top 40 hits from American radio to keep their nightclub gig. They don’t own any of the records, but they’re going to give it a try.
Mashing up the music you remember (and some that’s best forgotten) with the Afro-funk style of Fela Kuti, the band will surprise and delight. But mostly, get you shaking it.
