Might seem biased since I actually am employed here But in my three years of employment, I’ve never tried the chicken and leek pie from the cabinet. But DAMN it was so good, I just had to leave a review for it. It’s actually better than most chicken type pies I’ve ever had. Highly recommend. As always, staff are awesome, friendly and efficient, despite being so busy AND having technical issues. Staff looked run off their feet but they still kept smiles on their faces and catered to all customers needs. Love Hydro!

Front of house staff was lovely, beautiful coffee. Ordered a lambs fry meal. It is my first time in New Zealand and I wanted to try some ‘kiwi cuisine’, the lovely girl at the counter recommended the Lambs fry as it is a very “kiwiana” meal. Perhaps it is an acquired taste but it wasn’t enjoyable at all. Wife enjoyed her avocado though. Other than that, service was wonderful.
We've ordered a packed breakfast and lunch for our large group. Everything went very smoothly, the food was delicious, well prepared and packed they did great at accommodating the dietary restrictions, everyone at the cafe was so helpful and nice, and the communication with Jaymie was great! I can highly recommend!
We had a lovely lunch in the sun over the weekend. I had the savoury mince with poached eggs. They were happy to substitute the bread for a side of cooked spinach for me. My partner has the salmon frittata. Meals were lovely and it’s a great atmosphere there out on the deck.
