Relaxing walk on a well-maintained trail through areas of native bush, with gentle climbs to bluffs offering lofty views of the Waikato River surging downstream to the Huka Falls. The distance is 3km one way and allow 45 min to 1 hour to complete each direction.
Beautiful walk. It's fairly easy, but does get steep in sections. It was sunny when we went, but the wet would be slippery. I'd recommend at least wearing closed in shoes.nnI couldn't get over how stunning the river was to walk along.
We had a great 2h and 9.5km walk to the Huka falls by the river and then loop back through forrest. Good instructions for walkers and bikers, nice sand paths.
Really enjoyable easy walk to see the huka falls. About 45 one way and then the same way back. At the main bridge, other tourists drive to the lookout for the picture. We prefer the walking route. The paths is well marked, many tourists and there’s the opportunity to enjoy a dip in the water too.
Great little walk with an amazing river colour along the whole way.
