Not in the most accessible location, but the thought of urban farming mixed in cafe sounds enticing enough. Initially I thought it might be individual cafe within the classrooms in the old school building, turns out it is canteen stalls concept with common dining area. The place is spacious and pretty conducive to do some work or readings. Managed to roam the farm area and saw some interesting plants. It was an allocated farm area by bidders, individual plots were all locked up so we couldn't enter, can only walk along the corridor door peeking into the plots. Still a nice different concept to visit.
First time at City Sprouts farmer's market! Had a chance to explore some of the farms rented out, farmers were friendly and helpful to share their experiences. A good handful of shops were opened by locals selling their variety of produce as well. Thr was live music too. A vibrant community here :
Hidden hidden hidden gem. Used to be an old school canteen and renovated to be a modern eating space. Food from most of the stalls are squarely above average. Spacious & well-ventilated area to chill and work too! Might be a bit hard to find and probably needs more signages/publicity. Can access from going up the stairs along Henderson Road pictured below and walking straight in.
Quiet early lunch, bright, clean canteen. 2nd time trying Hakka Pang 1st time at Tekka, still very flavourful. Can buy low GI brown rice at a lower price and also grey oyster mushrooms...
We like the ambience here. Food offerings are rather unique. Food may be a little pricey and there's no air-conditioning. Initially I was ok with no air-conditioning but as we ate, I was sweating buckets and that took away from the dining experience.
Randomly passed by this place, was amazed. High ceiling and spacious. Decent amount of food stalls which i would like to try out the next round. I arrived around 4pm some of the stalls already starts to close. Overall the place is pretty clean as well. Ordered beer with my mum to chill out, pricing is pretty good. Range around SGD7-SGD10. Also i notice there is an environment friendly fashion/clothing thrift shop Cloop which i love the idea of reducing cloth/fashion waste. Oh BTW, the carpark it's FREE! :
It's a delightful and quaint lunch place with independent hawkers. The food is delightful and the place wasn't too hot. The school sink was a nice touch.
Awesome activities hosted by City Sprout - Blast to the past 2022. Booths such as capteh, congkok, goli, zero-point etc.. Visited some of urban farming thou mostly closed. After hot sun, chill out at sprout hub and surprised lotsa recycling initiatives. Would be good if more initiatives reach out for eco green event. Spacious, non aircon with big wind vent.. Furry animals are welcome too.. Overall, great get away from bustle city n tech gadets for kids to learn more on urban farming, sustainability initiatives.
Different kind of dining experience when U are dining & drinking beer at yr fri's old secondary school tuckshop, Pizzas and burgers are good, rest are also worth a try
Nice vibe at the market. Things are nice and unique with live performance. Hope the scale can get a bit bigger next time.
