What in the wonderland of deliciousness I walked into today nThe chef here doesn’t cut any corners, makes delicious food from scratch which shows through tastiness of her meals and is a friendly face throughout your experience in the cafe. There are gluten free and vegetarian options available along with highly addictive meat dishes. My favourite from today was the banoffee pie it was absolutely bangin!!! I will be returning, especially with the new late night menu that will become available in the next few weeks. Current opening hours are Mon- Fri 7am - 2pm and Sat- Sun 8am- 2pm.nnThanks team, you served us well .
Holly’s concept is great, Asian fusion is all the rage these days. Though the execution could be worked on. I initially went in 2022 in which I tried some cabinet options and typical bene brunch including bao bun Korean hotteok I believe it was. Was generally satisfied with the food and left a good impression. Went again in 2023 after their new change up in menu and pork belly baguette caught my eye. Friend got a waffles stack and we got some drinks. Chocolate art was cute, iced latte was average as to be expected, meals themselves were not gonna lie a bit of a let down. In appearance and substance in my opinion. My friend’s waffle stack just looked a bit sad and my baguette well other than the sauces pork belly masking the sad looking bread that felt a bit stale the whole thing was just, yea sad. Pork belly was nice though, and thankfully the chats were the best and staff were kind enough to let us keep chatting without any side eye. Hollys atmosphere is ok, nice spacious seating and rustic vibe, I feel like it would be much elevated with some improvements in food quality.
Loved the K-bread. It was fluffy, soft, and perfect combo of sweet and savoury. It's like a meal and a dessert in itself. This bread reminded me of the ones I used to have back in S. Korea. Lean smoothie was also nice and refreshing. Spacious café with plenty of parking. Friendly service.
Pains me to write the review because I’ve always loved Holly’s. Just been for Mother’s Day, unaware it has changed hands. The portions were half the size they used to be, but the same price. Food was just average, compared to the previous owners where food was delicious. They forgot the drinks, not enough cutlery available for the tables. It’s lost its wow factor. It was their first “big day” of being busy, which I can understand but we were just very underwhelmed this time. Hopefully they’re able to find their footing, but for now we’ll be giving it a miss.
I had the Turkish eggs. It wasn't what I expected but it was delicious nevertheless. Ginger, lemon honey, tea was a good balance of all three. Sister enjoyed her chicken toasties, especially because of the Turkish bread and the Cinnamon brioche swirl was lovely too.
