Whatever your reasons for wanting a hive in your backyard, Hives Manawatu can supply and manage a beehive (or two) for you. Honey bees provide a fantastic pollination service for your fruit trees, berries, vegetables etc. They also provide many hours of enjoyment simply watching them as they go about their business.

With the arrival of the Varroa Destructor mite in 2000, NZ has seen virtually all wild hives die out, and any swarms that aren't collected by a beekeeper usually die within 18 months of settling into their new home. By managing hives with a system using both organic and synthetic miticides, hives in urban areas can again thrive.
