Lovely stay at the Hilton. We had a relaxation room. A couple of very minor issues like the tv remove control not working but the service was good and a short walk from our room to breakfast each day was great. The gardens and grounds are kept beautifully. Great success to the walking track that goes around the lake. You will hear planes being close to the airport but overall lovely stay.
When I walked into this room I understood why it was pricey. It is beautiful! The views and the balcony were amazing.nnThe location of the hotel is nice because it is right on the lake. There is a water taxi stop right off the hotel dock.nnThe bed and space were nice. The bathtub that is large enough to soak in was a nice touch. The only complaints I have about the room are the shower and bathroom lighting. The shower shoots water at a weird angle. The bathroom has weirdly dim lighting.nnLoved my stay overall. I enjoyed the turn down service with some Whitaker chocolates!
The hotel room was very comfortable and has a huge balcony that you can view the Southern starry skies at night with little light pollution. You should definitely choose a premium room with lake view. The hotel room booking was reasonably priced. There was a private gravel parking slot opposite to the hotel that was priced at NZD $16 per 24 hours. There is nothing to complain about this excellent hotel.
We started our 3 day stay at the Doubletree across the street. Moved to the Hilton after two nights there. What a huge difference. We did get an upgrade to a lakeside suite, but imho the Hilton is a MUCH better choice. Better food, better rooms, better views. There is also a dock in front of Hilton to Jump in the lake/river refreshing 14C temp. The breakfast is also much better, the Doubletree was horrible, I've had better at Hampton's. The heated bathroom floor was a nice touch!nnOne note if staying here, the ferry has reduced schedules due to staffing, I think the last outbound is at 4:15pm.
The comfort level is 9.9/10, the room is clean and has a comfortable king-sized bed, and the food is great! We enjoyed the pool with sauna, the breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive especially Sophia, Jessy and Jorge, Thank you guys for the excellent service. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone. We look forward to staying here again.
