Probably the best spot for a pub in New Zealand? Amazing views of Akaroa. Very friendly publican and staff. Had the seafood chowder which was great. Well worth a stopping at.

Lovely place, the food is tasty, pizzas are great, service is very good and welcoming. The view is fantastic and there's even a playground for the kids! What more could you ask for?
A visit to the Hilltop Tavern is a must if you are in the Akaroa area. The views from the Tavern are amazing, especially looking down over the Bay. This is a delightful place for morning tea, lunch or afternoon tea. The drive up is very scenic too.

Wow! Great place. Just happened to be driving back into ChCh from Akaroa and felt very thirsty and... there the Hilltop Tavern was! Super convenient. I was hoping for just a wee drink and they had big ones too! and great fries. Everything I needed including a super view. Get in there!
Must stop by... friendly staff great pint... stunning views.
