Absolutely magical evening at their Light Up event. So many gorgeous lights, with music and an interactive musical path... A complete feast for the senses! There are a wide variety of festive food choices that were all tasty if not scarily overpriced. Only issue we had was finding toilets that weren't locked. Would have been nice if there were signs to help navigate. But honestly, the whole thing was lovely and we had a wonderful evening. Will definitely go back next year! Highly recommend it, it's worth every penny.
Was hoping for a great display of autumn colours and wasn't disappointed. We went on a lovely sunny October day as the trees were starting to turn. Many shades of red, orange, yellow and green, plus the brilliant long flower borders, sculptures, musical instruments, things for children and big kids to spot, a playground and a choice of cafe's and restaurant with gluten free options. We'll definitely be back during another season.
Beautifully laid out gardens with lots to see all year round. Great facilities too - 3 restaurants, a gift shop and unsurprisingly, a garden centre. If you live nearby then annual membership is the way to go - an affordable option allowing you to go as often as you like, and also including 3 guest passes per member. The only downside is that only assistance dogs are allowed, so you can't take your pooch for a walk around there.
Haven't been for years and absolutely loved it! What a wonderful day. Went with my family including 3 very small grandchildren 6, 2 and 13 months who all loved it. Picnic in the grounds and very nice tea and cakes in the restaurant too.
Beautiful, peaceful and spacious gardens, a lovely tranquil walk. I love how all of the plants and trees are labelled. There is always a new part to explore, especially through the seasons when plants change colour. Plenty of clear paths and open spaces. Many benches to sit down and relax with a bit of lunch. Cafes dotted around various points too! There is also a park for children to play. Each part is split into roughly themed sections, trees, peonies, wisteria, small flowers, bushes, irises. There are some beautiful sculptures which blend in well. There so many parts to explore you simply can't do it all in one day! What I loved was that along the path there were musical instruments for people to play such as marimbas and xylophones. There was notated music that you could learn, or have fun composing yourself! It sounded very ethereal, especially when hearing it in the distant woods! There was also a garden which had a bee house and you could help water the plants. Very educational and fun for all ages!
I took my mum to the Lights Up event on New Years Eve, it was really lovely, we nearly didn't go as the weather was supposed to be awful but the rain held off thankfully. It took just over an hour to walk round all the lit areas, all the staff on duty were friendly & helpful. Would definitely go again if it's on next year, but we visit the Gardens during the year anyway, it's just a nice calming place to go.
Stunning venue for the Christmas Light Show. Beautiful music, peaceful walk and very creative use of lighting. Great set of food and drink stalls half way the walk to make sure everyone is well fed before continuing!
Love this Garden beautiful in all season's. Nice tea rooms, restaurants. A good walk with lots of plants labled and perfectly placed. They have a cool tree house and a play area that the children love.
I am so glad I found these gardens, I was staying in Brockenhurst for a few days and wanted to incorporate a walk. The gardens were about a 30 min drive away, beautiful and expansive, there were so many paths to wander down and explore. The planting was beautiful, inspiring and well thought out. I was subsumed in nature and I loved every second. It was really helpful to be able to park in the gardens, it was also extremely well signposted from the motorway right up to the entrance. There were 3 eating places in the grounds to choose from aswell as the garden shop which had some really nice treats from local independent creators and producers. The team were also very welcoming and friendly- definitely recommend to anyone visiting Hampshire!
I had an amazing time visiting the gardens for the Light Up Trail. It was a 45-60 minute walk along the trail which was absolutely enchanting. Really encourage people to visit if the weather allows it.
