OUR STORY
Hihi honey is a family business run by Chris and Eve Charles producing a range of the finest, purest honeys from the beautiful mountain and pastoral areas between the Hunua Ranges and Awhitu Peninsula. We focus on the health of our hives placing them in clean natural locations to collect high-quality nectar. We produce honey like you had when you were a child. Our company is named after the rear and beautiful Hihi or commonly known Stitch Bird.
OUR REGION
Remote in the southern seas, New Zealand is an important honey producer and one of the most isolated islands in the world. 80% of our trees, ferns and flowering plants are found only in New Zealand. Our isolation, sustainable farming practices, and significant coverage of native flora, means we guarantee our honey is totally natural. Our beehives are placed on remote and isolated areas stretching from the bush clad sides of the Hunua Ranges across to the wild beaches of the Awhitu Peninsula.

ENVIRONMENT & SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Our nature is part of who we are. New Zealanders have a strong connection to our natural environment. It is central to our identity and the foundation for our economy, lifestyle and culture. Protecting our nature is a job for everyone. Hihi Honey is playing its part by providing an environmental dividend to help protect the land of Aotearoa. We are proud to fund:
*Our land partners to purchase native trees or predator traps to restore and maintain the natural values of their farms and bush blocks.
Create a range of the finest and purest honeys to enable people to eat healthy, be happy, while restoring and preserving our natural environment. The heart of our business is to work with nature.
Our guiding principles: preserve the purity of the nectars source and ensure the uniqueness of our honey. We partner with land owners where our hives are located and help them conserve the natural resources of their land, and to replenish. We do what we say we will do.
