Story

Hibbards has been around since the late 1950's and has had numerous owners over the years.
Ian, who has worked there since the early 90's bought the business in 2006.
Everything was going very well until the September 7.1 earthquake where the building was badly damaged and Ian was forced to find another premisis...
Three months later, Hibbards got up and running again at 387 Worcester Street when the next earthquake hit in February and pretty much destroyed the whole block. Things werent looking great and Ian wasn't sure if he should give it another go or give up...
Eight months later and they have put together a new shop at 101 Stanmore Road, 3rd time lucky!!!

I really like Hibbards for their affordable quality meats. Their sausages are very tasty with lots of variety. They have amazing specials and the team is happy & friendly. I have recommend them to many friends who now shop here also : If in doubt try one of there awesome value BBQ packs and see the quality/quantity for yourself
The BEST pork and bacon bones, they also sell watercress too. So that's all your boil up needs in one spot. Huge meat selection. Friendly, knowledgeable staff always helpful.
Awesome Store and Team! Was there yesterday morning and the team were very friendly and helpful. I ordered whole Rumps and they were very kind to cut them for me. They were still placing the items but the ones that were out looked so heavenly and my mouth was watering. A place where you can easily break the bank looking at all that beautiful meat. I did find that the spices were over priced bit thats one little thing out Of all the good things they offer.
Buy my meat here excellent quality. Great service. Just finished our boned out ham. The best yet. Moist and tasty. We'll done team.
Depending on what product your looking for you can be sure to find it here none of their range is processed they have been in the community for many years and have made a valuable contribution I have been coming in for many years and I continue to do so
AMAZING!!! Came across these guys on a Facebook post discussing Butchers. We get one of the family packs which are incredibly good value for money. Staff are really helpful and we can feed our family of 6 for less than $120 on meat for a fortnight! Bargain!!!
I recently placed an order for my chch family, as the supermarkets had been picked clean during lockdown. I was so impressed by the quick contactless delivery options, ordering was easy and I think it was great value for money. Very impressed with the rack of lamb, which was only $16.
Hibbard's is one of the best butchers in town. The staff are friendly and efficient, the meat is better quality than supermarkets yet costs less, and they have a range of cells condiments, species and bbq supplies to complement their wide range of meats.

Best in town!!! Highly recommend you try here if you're looking for the best butcher in town. I love it. The staff are so friendly and very helpful. You will not be disappointed with the quality and flavour of the meat, and so much variety. Their sausages are to die for. Best pork bones in town too, but don't tell anyone, it's a secret....
