Beautiful pebble beach and clean water. Toilets readily available, superb fish and chip shops on the sea front and has a very safe feeling to the area, great for families. Don't forget to take some change for the arcade as well! Car parks fill up quickly but usually find a spot without too much trouble and parking is reasonable cost for the day.
Visited Herne bay for the first time with the family today. We all loved the day !! From crabbing on the pier, the gorgeous fish chips for lunch and all the monies spent in both the Arcades. We only spent roughly 5 hours here but could easily of spent longer. We will be returning. Great family day out.
A shingle beach, old fashioned feel to it, which is fine by me! Very popular with swimmers and families. Some parts of the beach shelve quite steeply in places, others nice and flat - easy to see when the tide is out. Lots of activities around the beach area - arcades, crazy golf, gardens, play areas, and fish and chips, of course! A lovely pier which is where Google have taken their photo from. My photos are looking back towards the pier after two days out with the family there. Definitely worth a visit if you want to enjoy a classic, east Kent seaside town.
1. Pebble beach 2. Clean water 3. Toilets available 4. Shops around 5. 10 min walk from rail station 6. Parking available 7. Pier with shops and rides 8. Neptune’s Arm - Amazing view and cool walk. 9. Roman structural remnant. 10. Spectacular Sunset view.
Very good beach and sea front. It’s not Sandy beach but we still have a nice day out. There are part of the beach you can swim but water was too cold today, so didn’t have a swim. There is sea front paid car parking for up to 4 hours, but you should find free ones further away from the sea. Cafe and Toilet near the west side of the beach where you can get coffee and tea and ice cream.
Such a lovely and clean beach! Thoroughly enjoyed spending the day here! Lucky enough to get the fresh doughnuts great memories of my childhood! Hubby was super happy as he got his slush puppy! Chip shop and other restaurants are all walking distance and all the facilities are just great! I’d definitely recommend this beach and will be coming back here! Nice to see some celebrities too!!!
The tide goes right out for alot of the day which the kids loved! Nice place. parking can be a bit tricky if it's busy. Fairly decent pricing everywhere
Lovely beach with some amusements and a great nature walk just the other side of the beach
Herne Bay has a lovely beach, although it has so much shingle and very little sand it has some brightly coloured beach huts and is close to all amenities and great for all the family.
Great place for a day out. We found it was best to park at the Hampton car park and then walk it to Herne Bay. The views early morning were stunning. The pier area was a bit quiet prolly due to covid restrictions and all, but we loved it that way.
