Excellent coffee, great food with some interesting points of difference on the menu. Creamy mushrooms were dairy free which was a refreshing change. Extra points for having power points where you need them if you need to get some work done and water glasses that hold more than 3 mouthfuls at once.
A lovely experience. One of the best long black I ever tasted. Excellent California breakfast burrito as well as the eggs royale and the eggs on ciabatta. A must stop when you come from the north Island.
Lovely coffee. Ordered the signature creamy mushroom toast but it's a bit salty for my taste, disappointments
I’ve gone to Herb and Olive regularly over the past three years. The food is excellent, solid menu and good counter food. The blueberry muffin is a highlight and the lunchtime salads are great, you just need to get in early.nnOverall though, the service at the counter has never been particularly friendly which is fine but sometimes it’s borderline rude. Last time we went it we felt like we were an inconvenience when ordering coffees. The coffees also were really average - they tasted burnt and were way too hot. Not the first time the coffee hasn’t been stellar. Finally decided we’d rather frequent other spots which better service and consistent coffee in town. Shame because the food is good.
After an amazing night out with friends, the perfect start to a day is with a delicious breakfast.nWell, today was a good day!nAs always, starting the morning with a coffee is a must, so I ordered a flat white and an americano with cream. This came quickly and go us off to a good start!nI then ordered eggs benedict with bacon.nThe eggs were cooked perfectly, and the ciabata bread was fresh, soft and perfectly toasted. The stand out of the breakfast was the bacon - smokey and crisp, I could have eaten a whole plate of the bacon alone!nAll 5 of us who were eating were very happy with the breakfast, and it got us off to a great start to an amazing day.nAnother note is that we had a toddler with us, and the cafe catered to his presence with toys and a high chair...and lets not forget the 'fluffy' which eventuated with chocolate all over his face! Super cute.nDefinately good value and a lovely atmosphere.
