Had my 2 nights of postnatal stay there immediately after having birth at hospital in a pool. I’m a first time mom and was glad to learn quite a lot from mid wives there, although some of them seemed to me quite strict, they definitely know what’s best for you and for the baby, they are very knowledgable. They looked after me and constantly checking my baby as they are monitoring each room every certain hours to make sure everything is ok, even at night and happy to come with help whenever is needed. Moreover there is beautiful free meal was provided straight to my room. I was also quite happy with having private bathroom. Highly recommend the center!
Absolutely amazing place, I am so grateful I was able to go. Was there in March/April 2024. The staff were beyond lovely, helpful & so knowledgeable. They taught me a lot in those early days. Would highly recommend :
I wouldn’t recommend Birthcare to anyone after the experience I had. Being a first time mum it is extremely overwhelming, and being at birthcare so soon after giving birth, it was the worst way to start this new journey. Their opinions are extremely forced and there is a complete lack of patience and understanding from the staff. Breastfeeding was a huge struggle for me and at one point when crying through the pain, the staff told me to cry it out and continue trying to pump. After my husband and I decided that we wanted to move forward with formula feeding, we asked the staff if we could get some more information on bottle feeding etc. After bringing up formula feeding, the staff changed completely towards me and I was made to feel like I was doing something to harm my baby. I had to sign consent forms to try my baby on formula and was left feeling so lost and alone as they did not want any involvement in it. I could not wait for the stay to be over and wish I had of left sooner. I genuinely felt quite traumatised after this experience..
We are so grateful to have received the opportunity to stay at the Helensville Birthing Centre and were so impressed with the level of care we received.nnOur room was really comfortable for the two of us plus our little man and the meals were incredible as well! A special thanks for our Christmas gift and meal!nnWe learnt so much during our two night stay and were so well looked after. Constant support was available and nothing was ever too much trouble. We could not have asked for more.nnA massive thank you to all of your team!
Hi,nnWe went to Birthing Centre today we were welcomed by Louis Sorry if I have spelled wrong. Louis took us to over room and explained us everything. Till this point we were loving it. But after this when the time came to check the “Blood Pressure” the problem started. The machine that was used had a small cuff and it didn’t showed the correct reading. Louis tried to measure it second time but it should incorrect reading. We believe Louis didn’t had proper equipment. The BP reading came high and then we were sent back to the hospital. As soon as we came back to hospital they check the BP of my wife and it was normal. We was rushed back to hospital by Louis and we appreciate that as she was concerned for my wife and her health. But I believe that staff should get proper equipment so that people who comes to the birthing unit don’t have to face unnecessary problems the way we have faced.nnLouis did everything best to her knowledge but I believe that she should get best equipment’s as well so that she can do her role properly.nnOverall, really unhappy as we have to leave the Birthing unit without any reason and because of the faulty equipment. The BP reading can’t be changed in 40 min drive. So, I guess staff will only perform well if they have best equipment and amazing training plan in place.nnThis is just a feedback. Lewis you are doing great, it is just management who need to understand how to support their staff so they can perform better with best of their experience.nnTanuj Thukral
