Established in 1946 by the Heathcote Family, Heathcote Appliances have been bringing our customers the best price and best advice for over 69 years.

In 69 years the technology has come and gone; so have our competitors. We have always prided ourselves on the level of knowledge, advice and service we can give our customers. Heathcotes have a large-format store in Hamilton City as well as The Base (NZ's Largest Shopping Centre) in Te Rapa. Heathcotes also has 2 other stores in Morrinsville & Te Awamutu. We also have a dedicated aircon and Service centre in hamilton plus our used appliance store.

Best after sales service! Our washing machine broke down so I emailed them last nightSunday and was impressed to see a detailed email first thing this morning with who I need to contact in our city for help. They then called to make sure I understood everything in the email and did I need further help. Definitely buying from them again. Superb customer service from Irene*****
Best value home appliance shops in Hamilton. Staff that know their appliances and can offer recommendations. I have always had a great deal in these stores.
Pretty average service. Thought I would give a NZ locally owned store a go rather than going to one of the big box stores but I now regret that. I don't understand why your online orders cant be dispatched from the stores that hold the correct stock and why the items have to be sent locally to your distribution center only to be then sent out again. Just seems like a lot of double handling and delays for the customer. The explanation I got from one of your customer service people seemed very confusing saying that your website is just a online interface for the physical stores but then everything is sent out from your DC warehouse and you transfer stock between stores every 2-3 days. To put this into context, I could of purchased this same item from an online Australian store and I would of had the item 4 days ago.
This store gave me a mixed emotion every time I visit the whiteware department. First when greeted by Nathan I was very impressed by his professionalism and top-notch customer service, would give 10 stars if I could and always offer the best deal that no one else or any other store can give. If you need whiteware appliances, just come in store and ask for Nathan, guarantee will make your day and no disappointment at all. But, I have to give 4 stars for this review because I also deal with another younger guys in the same department, not sure his name but absolutely terrible customer service, disrespectful when chewing gum talking to customers, answer questions with indifferent attitude and no intention to help me choosing the item or giving me any deal at all. Such a waste of time and energy having to deal with this guys twice!!!
Only ordered online but very impressed with the level of professionalism and service at heathcotes. After 30 years of only having second hand washing machines I decided to take advantage of the boxing day sales and treat myself to a brand new washing machine and not only did heathcotes have a great price on a 9.5kg washing machine they called me on the same day an hour later to arrange delivery which was sooner than expected given that I thought since it was a boxing day order I may of been looking at delivery being in the new year. On delivery day the driver was very communicative and called me to say he was 20 minutes away and was very polite so all in all a great experience ordering online at heathcotes and I can't recommend them enough.

I had a very bad experience buying a tv and tv cabinet from Heathcotes Te Rapa, and the customer service was very bad. The person whom I talked to was Adrian, and his manager refused to talk to me. Anywas, here is my situation: I bought a TCL 65" tv in the boxing day sales. It took them 2 weeks to deliver it to me just from Auckland to Hamilton. For picking up, I took couple hours off from work, borrowed another friend’s ute, called another friend to come and help me. Took us about 2 hours to pick it up, unpack it, set it up in the house. I turn the tv on and it does not have sound, I spend an hour to find out what’s the problem, and it doesn't work again. The other day I plug it in and it starts smoking! I call Heathcotes to change the tv for me, and they say it will take few days to replace it. I have been waiting for 2 weeks, and nothing has happened, and I have been spending time, following up about all these things! Adrian told me it will take few days, and I said do I need to follow up about it? And he said No. I have been following up 2 times in the meantime! Regarding the tv cabinet, the paint inside couple of the drawers is obviously peeled, and it is obvious that the person who made the table ridiculously repainted it with the low quality paint! Why should I spend my valuable time returning a huge 65" tv and cabinet to the Heathcotes store, so that they replace it for me? And they don't do any reimbursement at all! If it is a business ethic, then it means I am a master business! You need to keep your customers happy instead of only thinking about their money! I know now a person will respond to this comment as: We apologize and and we will pass this comment and blah blah. It does not give me back the time and effort that I spent, but what I can do is that I never buy anything again from you and will not recommend it to my friends!
