I took a new stock board to J-Dub for a repair for damage that happened on my first surf, I was pretty unimpressed with the quality and after chatting with Johnny I ended up ordering a J-Dub custom. I loved the board that Johnny made and since then I've ordered a second custom and love that board too...Johnny is great to deal with and has made me a couple of great boards that suit my needs perfectly. Been getting ding repairs and custom boards from JDub for 5 years now. Repairs are meticulously done and to high end perfection. Often struggle to find where the repair was. The custom boards are super sick, paddle well, catch tons of waves, are lightening fast and does turns with so much spray. It will get you as close to John John's surfing as you can get. They leave my other big brand boards collecting dust. So lucky to have such a talented shaper in NZ.

I have been taking boards to Jonny for repairs since 2019. The first time I met Jonny he let me take my board to his home to make it easier for me and gave me heaps of info about my boards' construction. Jonny and his team have always done solid repairs for me to high standards and given a personalised service. Jonny is super friendly and always keen for a yarn. Would highly recommend.

Great work on my orange PU 6'8": Had a number of small cracks all around the rails, and some bigger ones on the deck and tail. Can't even tell where they were now : Repairs were high quality, and they did a great colour match. Fast turnaround and good price for the job.

I’ve owned a couple of JDub’s now and have had my most recent board for approx a year. Every time I ride it I think I must jump on google and leave a review. I absolutely love it, it suits my style of surfing and has become the board I ride about 90% of the time. Mr Woods has the ability to talk through the waves you surf, your style,ability, fitness etc… and tailor the right board to suit you in a way that you a generic board from the shelf will never match. The build quality is also excellent. The boards last for ages and continue to perform. When the time comes, my next board will definitely be another JDub.

J-Dub is the man you want to go to if you ever need a repair done, can’t speak highly enough of his work. Price is always reasonable and done quickly. The customs are looking slick aswell
