Hawkins Theatre in Papakura is now open after refurbishment. Hawkins theatre is a great place to meet with friends and enjoy each others company while catching a movie, school performances, Dane competitions, events and awards, The Glow Show, or a fun time with Operatunity!! You can purchase ice-cream, coffee, biscuits, or wine at the bar. You can take them into the theatre with you also. If you are a senior and purchase your tickets online for the movies, currently they are only $10:00. Hawkins theatre is also a lovely place to take the grandchildren/mokopuna for the movies anytime. There is often a Ladies night, which costs $24 or $26 depending if you purchase in advance or at the door. Thus usually involves a chick flickhowever some me do attend a drink of any kind and an ice-cream. A great deal. Here are a few photos of the April program to pique your interest.

Great place to visit. Plenty of car parks. Near a park can walk around and relax.
Great theatre - but really difficult if you have someone in a wheelchair. They are revamping the seats next year - maybe they can make the top row much deeper so if you put a chair in the top row so people can passed without holding up the whole theatre and not need to climb over the chair. Also would be good if they could give room to move the chair without it almost tipping down the stairs. Just as important - please fix the disabled toilets - 3 doors to get through that 1 opens the wrong way for a chair and are not quite wide enough - add the congestion of a theatre - it is a complete nightmare. Just need a seperate disable toilet - can be unissex - that means you do not need to go into either toilet with room to roll straight in. Auckland city - If you want an see a a great disabled toilet - just look at the one at the Botanical Gardens in Manurewa. It makes a huge difference if you trying to get disabled people out in the community. Disabled parking and access to the building is good.
