Unfortunately this is not a positive post and nothing to do with the hospice itself. I am referring to their stores. I suggest that maybe you need to provide adequate training for your Managers as they seem to struggle with the meaning of volunteer versus paid employee. Sadly I was working in one of their stores for nearly two years and very seldom did the Manager engage fully with the volunteers nor did this person make me feel valued. We are providing our time for free and absolutely this should be acknowledged. If it wasn't for Volunteers their stores would not operate. Vary, very poor indeed.
I could not recommend them more for their thoughtful terminal and respite care my mother stayed several times. They also give enormous support to the family and provide a place to be close to your loved one and also to cook, shower, sleep if needed. Thank you to all the staff. If you, like us, are ever in the position of choosing end of life for a loved one either here or in a hospital, I would sincerely advise to come here.
Quite a professional, warm feel with friendly staff. I sat waiting for my appointment and was greeted by staff and had the random 'are you being attended to?' asked of me; I felt rather appreciated. Overall a good experience.
To those who may not be aware, my wife has terminal cancer, and she has been granted end of days at hospice as there is only me at home. I get to sleep in the same room, they supply our dinners. They take care of my wife and educate me. I now understand that respite is not only about my wife but also about me. In the end LOVE lives there
Fantastic place. People were great. Place was well looked after. Good access 24/7.
