Sharon was an amazing host. She knew so much about Hans and his winemaking style. The wines are simply amazing. In general, his style is generally of full bodied wine but when looking at it in depth he really brings out the core of any grape. Id recommend a specific variety but better you taste them all. Just go there and enjoy. One small suggestion: have a small platter to really bring out the “elixir” he creates.
We visited this winery to celebrate my dad’s retirement. Sharon helped make the experience extra special and was amazingly helpful and engaging in our months long email exchanges! Sharon set up a private tour followed by a toast for my dad with their delicious cuvée. She also helped to make a special label on one of the wines for my dad to take home that was even signed by Hans himself! So very memorable and I cannot thank Sharon and Hans enough for the delicious wine and wonderful experience! The love the Herzog family puts into the winery is evident.
