A fun discovery! Coming from Miami, I'd never seen, nor picked, cherries from the tree. The day I stumbled into this U-Pick orchard was the first day of the season around 11/23 and the cherries were just ripening. Very friendly staff, too. You can buy them prepicked from the stand probably the best of their crop but then you don't get the joy of the search and the hands-on experience of plucking them off the trees.
Great experience at cherry land, the front reception lady was very nice and friendly, signs and pyo well displayed. We arrived quite late on the day, still enough time manage to pick few couple kgs, good quality cherry and highly recommend for South island holiday if you travel by ferry, a must go place in cherry season.
What a great discovery, have never picked cherries before, and found it very easy to collect 2kg. I'm glad they didn't count my increase in weight before and after picking!
We had such a ball tha k you so much, fun for the hole family! Don’t eat to much though or you’ll get an upset stomach haha
