We had an amazing stay at Hananui! It’s such a cozy, beautiful spot. The staff were genuinely lovely and super helpful. The room was spotless and beautifully set up, and getting there was a breeze. The value for money is fantastic—right in the perfect location, walking distance to everything in town and just steps from the beach. I’d highly recommend Hananui to anyone looking for a great place to stay
Hananui is perfectly located on the waterfront and in the village of Russell. Nev and Celina are wonderful hosts, and the rooms are very tidy and well stocked. A very comfortable stay - and the views can't be beat. I've stayed here before and I'll continue to stay here! Russell is not only historic, but the most charming town in NZ - and the Bay of Islands is magnificent!
We absolutely loved our stay at Hananui Lodge! The rooms were spacious, spotless, and beautifully presented — a perfect balance of comfort and charm. The location couldn’t be better — just a short stroll to the Russell shops, cafés, and waterfront. Our room overlooked the Russell Museum, which made our stay feel extra special and memorable. Highly recommend Hananui Lodge to anyone visiting Russell — we’ll definitely be back!
We enjoyed our stay so much and hope to be back again soon. The beach front location is ideal for swimming, sitting and admiring the view and listening to the gentle waves on the beach. The apartment has everything you need for an enjoyable and comfortable stay. Thank you for our lovely time in Russell.
We had a wonderful stay in room 10, second floor on the waterfront. September 2025 two nights mid week.nSpotlessly clean, with beautiful, crisp white bedding that looked new.nTo fall asleep with the sounds of the sea gently lapping on the shore at night was just bliss!nHosts were friendly and helpful.nWe can definitely highly recommend!
