Stayed here for one night at the double room. The bedding was clean and so was the toilet. Hot shower was powerful.nnThe staff takes great care in keeping the cleanliness of the kitchen, which was orderly as well.nnLocation wise, you are a stone's throw away from the lake and the city centre. There are plenty of restaurants and food trucks just opposite and beside the hostel. It's very convenient!nnCheck in and out were seamless, and there's plenty of parking along the road opposite the hostel. Again, very convenient.
Clean, cozy room and had great heating, which made for a very comfortable night. The only hiccup was arriving late; since the reception was closed, we felt a bit lost trying to find our way in. Thankfully, a kind fellow guest pointed us in the right direction to find our check-in envelope. Overall, it's a lovely and warm place to stay with common kitchen and shared spaces.
Had a 2-night stay at Haka House Wanaka. The location is excellent, and the views from the king room were fantastic.nnThe only downside was that the shower pressure wasn’t as strong as we would have liked, which seems consistent with some other reviews. Aside from that, it was a comfortable stay and a great base for exploring Wanaka.nnOptions for paid parking on site but there’s plenty of free parking across the street.
Great value place to stay in Wanaka. We got way better deal by booking directly on their website rather than on booking dot com. It is a hostel but also has en-suite room with twin beds . They are twin but joined together and no room to separate them if needed. Compact room with all facilities you might need basics. Comfortable mattresses. Location is perfect- town and the lake at your doorstep. Only issue we had was with the shower water pressure. Water was barely flowing.
Stayed in a private room in July. The room is compact, the heater wasn't warm at all, and the bathroom was absolutely freezing. On the bright side, the shower has plenty of hot water, which was a huge comfort in the cold weather.
