I had an amazing experience at the Adventure Wanaka Hostel, the staff were super friendly and accomodating, the kitchen is modern and clean, and the rooms are kept tidy and plenty of storage space under the bed. There's two lounge rooms, one with a tv and one with computers and board games. I also loved that they provide you with towels at no extra fee. Its in a great location, walking distance to the local grocery store and to the lake. I've stayed in a few hostels but this one has definitely left an impact, it has a great vibe even with people constantly coming and going its really easy to make friends.
I had a reservation from September 14 to September 27, but due to an emergency on September 15, I had to urgently fly back to my home country because my mother was admitted to the ICU. I asked if it would be possible to cancel the remaining stay from September 15 to 27 due to this situation.nnThe front desk told me that the payment was handled through Booking.com and that they couldn’t make any decisions regarding refunds.nnAfter returning to my country, I contacted Booking.com, but they informed me that the property did not approve a refund in this situation.nnI believe no one would use a family emergency as an excuse unless it were true. I have also attached photo evidence to support my case.
This is the 10th hostel that I’ve stayed at in New Zealand and by far the best.nYou can park your car for free in the street next to the hostel, I always managed to get a spot.nWe were welcomed by a member of staff at the reception that gave us a short tour of the hostel. The rooms are a decent size and have their own private bathroom. I found the bed/mattress very comfortable. The room and bathroom were cleaned daily which is quite rare for a hostel. The kitchen is a bit small but is fully equipped and has enough fridge space for everyone. There’s a “games room” even has a PS4 and a “computer room” where you can chill out/work.nThe laundry service is unreal! You just leave the staff your bag of clothes and they do everything for you and leave it on your bed when it’s done!nAn overall clean and well located place to stay if you’re in Wānaka. I’d definitely stay here again!!
Great hostel, great location, the beds have storage underneath, they are large enough and have curtains for privacy.nAmazing kitchen, bikes available to take out for the day. All in all just the best hostel!
Lovely and very helpful staff. Really nice atmosphere with great communal spaces.nnThe kitchen is always very clean and modern with induction hobs etc. Bathrooms nice and modern as well we were in a 6 bed en-suite dorm. Beds also very comfy with two pillows, bedside sockets and storage.nnCannot recommend this hostel enough, my favourite so far in NZ.
