We are landlords of 3 properties in Surrey. Our life has been made much easier and less stressful by using Grass Barbers. Over the last few years we have found their work to be highest standards. Costs are fair and billing is efficient. I can’t fault them.
Super super impressed with these guys. Did an amazing job on my neighbour’s completely over grown garden so asked them back do to mine and so happy with all the work they did. They cleared out all of our over grown shrubbery, even a few small trees, a dead hedge and then a general weeding and tidy up even some grass seeding. All in 3 hours and it feels like a new garden. I can’t get over how efficient they are and so well priced. Their website is also really handy to use and book them. Like garden superheros! Wish we’d known about them sooner, will definitely have them back to do some maintainace during the summer.
Grass Barbers works hard to ensure your backyard or garden are in tip top shape. They pulled weeds and laid mulch down which completely opened up my backyard space. I look forward to working with them in the future!
I have been using Grass Barbers on a fortnightly basis for the last 2 months since I first engaged them on a one off basis to tidy my garden for a birthday party. They have done an excellent job in taming my garden from the overgrown mess it was. Grass Barbers spend 2 hours each time mowing the lawn, weeding, pruning, turning over the soil for planting and generally keeping the garden good to enjoy. My previously sad-looking lawn is now starting to look healthy and green and I am certain will look as good as a bowling green by the summer. The nicer looking garden has now motivated me to plant more flowers and vegetables and also refurbish the two ponds that had been neglected for many years. Grass Barbers provide reliable, friendly, affordable services and I can recommend them without reservation to anyone requiring such services.
AVOID AT ALL COST. Shockingly awful customer service. Maybe they are good with existing customers but for new ones - appalling. I booked an appointment with them for 3 weeks time, received an e-mail that had clearly been badly cut & pasted as it contained Dear xx twice and only one of the names was mine; the e-mail requested full payment for the job in order to confirm the booking. When I replied that I would expect to pay a deposit but wasn't comfortable being expected to pay 100% of the amount 3 weeks in advance and usual practice is to be invoiced after completion of the job or immediate payment on the day - I received an automated response e-mailing cancelling the job! My follow-up e-mail has received no reply. I suspect many of the reviews on here are fake.
DO NOT PAY UPFRONT. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE .AVOID AT ALL COST. I would give a negative rating if I could. I suspect that the good reviews on their website are fake or from friends.This is the worst company I’ve ever dealt with.They have no understanding of customer service. They would have stolen my money if I hadn’t paid by PayPal and escalated the problem by raising a dispute. Once they get your money you won’t get any response whatsoever from them. I booked online and paid upfront as the company insists on payment in advance about a month before my garden clearance.I received an email from them cancelling the appointment a day before the job citing ‘technical problems’. I was informed to contact them to arrange another appointment. I was unhappy as I had arranged the day off work weeks in advance as my job demands this to oversee the job. There were no weather issues so I wondered what the technical problem was.After sending multiple emails and making several phone calls requesting for them to rearrange the appointment I had no response from them.I decided to contact PayPal one and a half months after my payment because I was at risk of losing my money. After escalating the problem with PayPal, I miraculously received an email within 30minutes of my dispute escalation from the manager of Grass Barbers saying that they had been busy and not been able to answer calls or respond to emails. Really? For one and a half months by a company that only takes email bookings? He tried to play smart but dumb by offering 30% discount on the next 2 specific days after my escalation when the weather forecast had predicted very heavy rain all day as was the case. They obviously had the intention of cancelling or not turning up on the day because of bad weather. All gardeners check the weather forecast days in advance before a job so they would have been aware of this. When I pointed this out to the manager and also the fact that the company only takes email bookings so they would have read my emails requesting another appointment . Below is the best response I got from him after one and a half months of poor customer service. Hi John Thanks for your email and advise We currently have no availability to help on any other day. Sorry we can't help Ramunas There was no attempt to arrange anything although bad weather had been forecast.Fortunately I have now received a refund from PayPal. Thank God I used this method of payment. Advise for anyone wanting to book with this company ,think twice. Don’t be fooled by what I suspect are fake good reviews on their website. They are very unprofessional. There’s no one to talk to as all calls go to voicemail and they will not respond to your emails or call back. Save yourself the hassle and book with someone else. However if you decide to UNWISELY book with them then don’t pay upfront .If you do, then only pay using PayPal or a credit card if it’s above £100 because they will get your money back if things go wrong. UPDATED REVIEW Funny how there’s a sudden influx of good reviews to cover up your poor customer service. Let’s get the facts straight. It was PayPal who got my money back . How could you be ‘very sad ‘about my recent experience when you emailed me to say you could not help me now or in the future after one and a half months of poor customer service. Trying to make yourself look good to the public after the truth be told by offering a discount. You honestly think I will book with you again ? Please stop misleading the public.
These guys did an amazing job on my garden. They were fast, professional and had no hidden fees, which I really appreciated. I highly recommend them!
