Me and my husband spent our weekend here and we loved our stay. Though they were short staffed, Rajeew took great care of us. He was very attentive, had a pleasant and welcoming manner and made sure we were comfortable. All our requests were promptly met and he made our stay enjoyable. Our room was cozy and we enjoyed the hot shower. I highly recommend Grand Arden.

Bad: Reception is unattended on site from 5pm and there is only a number to call. There is no gym or pool despite the manual saying so. After hours staff are rude, unaccommodating and scalp you for money wherever they can.nnIt seems as though after the recent purchase of this hotel that it has gone significantly downhill.nnGood: Lovely housekeeper lady who made us feel welcome from the start with her bubbly and kind energy, 100/100 for her service.

Do not stay here if travelling for business - there is no one onsite after 5pm which is crazy. Had to call a phone number for someone at another hotel who was trying to be helpful, but didn’t know anything about the place. They left my key in an envelope with some very basic instructions to get to my room which led me on a wild goose chase for a while. Absolutely shocking service. As someone who travels regularly around NZ for work, this is by far the worst experience I’ve had from a “hotel”

Booking into the grande Arden the reception girls were disorganised we got out room key went to the room very small and dark Then we had someone barge into our room at around 5-5.30 ish demanding us to tell him who we were!!! Yelling what is your last name! We were so shocked and scared my partner ask who he was he said he was the manager and demand to know our last name and why we were in the room! We told him we had paid and our last name and he left with no apology from him At all we did get an apology as we were leaving after my partner emailed them about the incident all she said was oh the doesn't sound like Rashid which made us feel like she felt we were lying?? Never have we ever had someone barge into our room while staying at a place like this before we left the next day and went to another Motel best decision we ever made!

We rented an apartment which was spacious and aesthetically pleasing. Why the two star review? 1. We were locked out of room due to key card error by clerk and had to wait 40 minutes for someone to come let us in as there is no staff on site after 5pm. No apology was offered until I expressed my surprise that I hadn’t heard any statement of contrition regarding the situation; 2. Kitchen was pretty bare bones and we had to empty dishwasher from last tenant; 3. No fitness center on site as claimed online
