My sister and I visited the very lovely Delamore Park today and took a walk through the well kept Bush. We were very impressed and enjoyed our time. We were however, very disappointed in the way the Bert Newman Aboritum had been left to become overgrown and neglected. We come from a Horticultural background and realize that a lot of effort and care was put into creating this special collection of plants, many of which are very rare or no longer available. It needs a knowledgeable person to take it in hand, and maybe volunteers to help restore it to the great Arboritum it should be.
Bunch of sad old men trying their hardest to stop any form of change! The current mayor is an amazing breath of fresh air that they can't handle, ending up looking like children arguing over who gets the remote instead of agreeing on a channel.
I moved to gore with my wife for an amazing job opportunity. We moved here with the intention of later moving to Invercargill, but after seeing how great this town is and the great care the council take in progressing it the wife and I feel like this is a better place to build and have our young family take root. With the free green parking meters seen around town, Fibre rolling out by the end of this year, and fishing to die for, this will be my home and my council for many years to come! keep it up guys
