Gonville Health Ltd (GHL) aim to be partners in helping you and your whānau remain healthy, fit and happy. GHL is a General Practice located at The Gonville Centre, 44 Abbot Street, Whanganui.

We are a Very Low Cost Access (VLCA) general practice that serves an enrolled population of approximately 6,000 patients. Our services include preventative health screening, vaccinations and immunisations, General Practice and Nurse Consultations as well as a Walk in clinic.

Being located at The Gonville Centre, means that in close proximity you will have access to Free Wifi, the Gonville Library and café, The Gonville Pharamacy and the Gonville Community Rooms. The Gonville Centre aims to be a hub of the Gonville community providing a model of wrap around care that involves all sectors i.e. education, health, social and community participation.

The appointment time waits are very reasonable, and if you're feel acutely ill, they can almost always get you or your child in that day or the next. Every doctor and nurse I have seen have been excellent. They are thorough, and genuinely concerned, so will do the necessary tests and referrals. My practice before this was nothing like this mainly due to staff shortages. I have moved further across town, but wouldn't leave this practice if you paid me.
To get an appointment with a Doctor it nearly a 2 Month wait, this has happened numerous times to me, even when it has been urgent eg. Coming from being seen at hospital and told to now see my Doctor. I am still waiting. They gave me an appointment for 8 weeks away. Now I have run out of meds the hospital gave me and now trying to get some more to see me through till I see the Doctor. Still waiting to hear back.... ridiculous.
People call the Dr when they need to see the Dr. Not when they need to see a Dr in 5 or 6 weeks time - not good enough. I also was assured this wouldn’t happen when I moved to Gonville as my GP. I know times are tough and there is a shortage in Drs, but the least your people could do is read the patient notes that should have been left from prior calls and appointments. I was told after some results that I would need to see the Dr fairly urgently, an appointment was made, rescheduled. Which I then missed due to the circumstances. To then be rescheduled again for late August. Absolute joke.
Unprofessional. They may not care about my health, but I do. It's a shame we have such a shortage of Doctors.
Have just phoned for an appointment with my Doctor, or any Doctor that is available, as in constant pain and was abruptly told "NO" Appointments until the end of June !!!!!!! They ask us on Facebook to be Kind and Be Patient, yet, how can we when we are given this type of service? So, what are we supposed to do? no, Im not going to the Hospital ED as they are under the pump and when we signed up at Gonville Health we were assured we would be seen by our Doctor. Not Happy At All !!!
Worst place in the whole of wanganui, terrible staff, absolute no help what so ever, rude as hell, do everything you can to avoid this place.
If someone is bleeding DON'T have them waiting like everyone else. They NEED to stop the bleeding asap. Common sense
felt sad for gonville health certain nurses need to update their attitude and start acting more professional with a better caring and understanding for patients a certain nurse you should not say if you are not satisfied here look for another doctor somewhere else, or if you are not happy here leave Wow really omg yes ppl that what happens to me absolutely disgusting sooner or later other patients well eventually leave that place because of how they mistreated there patients etc..
Thank you Gonville Health you are providing an excellent service and consultation service. I really appreciate what is a genuine concern for an individual. Thanks for helping me get through a horrid time with covid.
Bunch of fakes. Nobody picks up and the phones are run by robots by the sounds of it. Also, covid revealed their true selves. Also, falsely accusing your patients is sick and wrong. Shameful!
