IG: 2Fish1ChipnnOrder: Fish & Chips, Corn fritter and a sausage.nCost: $23.26nnLooking for good things from every venue I order from, and this round was disappointing.nnThe fish batter was soft and had no crunch giving it that rubbery texture. While the fillet itself was okay, the lack of a “Golden” crunch laid the foundation of a disappointing experience.nnAs humble and simple as the chip maybe, it’s still requires attention. The chips were off and can only be described as fry.nnThe corn fritter was the meals only saving grace with its fine mash and corn content. The outside cooked as it should providing that thin crunch and opening it to a well herbed and season centre.nnThe size of the fish, fritter was of a good size as was the portion of chips. Despite the lighter colour of the sausage, it was cooked well and tasted nice.nnNot the worst I’ve had, but also not the best. Below average is where I would rank the goods from Golden Palace.
This place is a massive favourite of mine when visiting the area twice a year over the past few years. Have mostly had Chinese dishes from this place and it always impresses, especially the Sichuan Chicken & Vegetables and Singapore Noodles. My sister also tried the Vegetarian Burger and didn’t stop raving about how delicious it was. Portions are big and loaded with plenty of very fresh ingredients.
Tried this place a few times as it's the only fish and chips in Eastbourne. Fish batter is soft and rubbery, yet fish is overdone. Chips usually overcooked. Worth the trip into Moera instead.
The crumbed fish was stale- slight ammonia tastennCould not eat it.
I really don’t like doing this but not great fish n chips the fish was stale, chips were the same, we had to bin it all x3
