Amazing stay! The owner Benjamin is the friendliest person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He genuinely cares about all guests stay and will go above and beyond.nThe location is perfect for a stroll into town and the views are amazing!nWell worth the stay. Can't wait to see you again!
Perfectly organized and extremely friendly operators. The whole complex has a great atmosphere. Good facilities and lots on offer, such as a whirlpool, washing machines and a large communal kitchen.nMore like a youth hostel than a motel.nThere is some breakfast and an edible soup in the evening.nUnfortunately, the wifi is completely unusable.nOur mattresses are at the end of their life and are more like hammocks.nEverything is lovingly decorated but the rooms are still very worn, somewhat rancid and musty smelling with lots of cobwebs.
What an amazing hostel! I booked a mixed dorm for myself, my partner, and my cousin who was visiting from the UK. Upon arrival, we had just completed a 5+ hour drive and were extremely tired. The business owner, Benjamin, checked us in, and he did a fantastic job of making us feel welcome. We even arrived in time to enjoy some delicious free vegetable soup, which is served every evening. Additionally, there's a complimentary daily breakfast included, which makes this hostel incredible value for money.nnThe dorm rooms are well-decorated and clean, and the communal areas and kitchen are also clean and well-equipped. I cannot recommend this hostel highly enough – it is truly fantastic. Thank you!
Had the pleasure meeting Georgia on arrival who made the first impression of the hostel amazing. Very welcoming & very friendly! Honestly wish we could’ve stay a few days long! The room was super clean and comfy, showers were great! The common area was cozy and perfect to hang around in. And loved the free breakfast! If I’m ever back in Franz Josef, ill def be staying here!
One of the best accommodations I've had in NZ so far. Large kitchen, lovely lounge and chilling area. The dorms are comfortable enough and it comes with a free breakfast and a soup in the evening. Benjamin is a lovely host, very knowledgeable about the area and deeply passionate about it. Kirby was also very welcoming and these guys have hospitality in their genes. 2min walks from the start of nice trails, and 2min from all the facilities in town. Would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone visiting Franz Josef glacier
