What an absolute vibe! Dined in for a date night with my husband. The atmosphere was incredible with live music throughout Food was great I chose the vegetarian options - pumpkin soup with bread for starters, and the Portobello Mushroom with roasted potatoes for mains. Both dishes were delicious and were really big portions! Vegetarian / vegan friendly menus are available separately and can be obtained by asking your waiter for one Hubby choose the pumpkin soup for starters and the Fish of the Day for mains which he confirmed to be very enjoyable The live music and ambience of the restaurant definitely sets the tone for a romantic dinner date We'll definitely be back! Vegetarian options: There is a dedicated vegan / vegetarian menu available - you may ask your waiter for one
O my! Really good food. Everything is super well made, the ice chocolate drink was superb, even had ice cream balls in it, the combination was done beautifully. The beef cheeks were extremely tender, which means the chef is showing off a little bit. Beef cheeks are normally very had to do right. Platter was really high quality. Atmosphere is warm and friendly. Pricing is just right for the type off food, but of course a more up market restaurant.
First thing when you arrive, it’s the beautifully kept grounds and peaceful atmosphere that brings you in. Then it’s the great service staff and restaurant that’s definitely worth the price of admission. Food was impeccable. Everything we had tasted great and was a big surprise. Exploring the gardens brought a whole new perspective with cute birds that follow you when you cross the area. I loved my visit here.
Tea tray was nice, loose leaf tea with strainer and milk jug……. but the focus of service seemed to be on setting up for the evening service, so I was encouraged to sit between other tables of guests who were chatting amongst themselves. I was really after a quiet spot to enjoy looking into the garden. Anyway, I’ll stop in again because the setting is so nice and the tea tray respected the process.
Wow! Just wow! The team at Glenfalloch have been amazing. We organised our wedding remotely from Australia, and choreographed it with the arrival in Dunedin of our cruise ship. Everything was perfect - venue, food, logistics, flowers, celebrant. The weather was great and showed off the spectacular gardens. Thanks so much to Alex, Monica and the team. You were fabulous.
Simply the best dining experience. From the friendly and accommodating staff to the most enjoyable food dishes. Glenfalloch Gardens Cafe & Restaurant is must visit next time your in Dunedin. We were so impressed we had to come back a second time only to be even more impressed. Great people, great food, great atmosphere with a beautiful garden setting. See you again next visit!
Lovely garden setting, but when attending the Cafe, we could only order from breads or a platter. Guessing due to staff shortage as it was very busy, and other groups were enjoying full meals for their lunch. Staff were very pleasant.
This place is fancy and the view is also nice. So sad that it was raining that day but they were still busy. Veggies i believed were freshly served. We’ll definitely recommend this to our friends, we are from Auckland.
Amazing environment and excellent quality foods plus brilliant service. We had Trust the chief 3 course for our first visit, unforgettable juicy lamb which definitely surprised us. Love those warm wait staffs, chiefs and beautiful environment!
What a lovely place to go for a meal and lovely surroundings. The staff were very friendly and helpful from door to table and food choices. We had a main meal each and not disappointed Food: 5/5
