On a business trip to Wellington, three of us stayed in a hotel with excellent value for money. Most hotels only offer double rooms, which means booking two rooms for three people, but this one accommodated all of us. The staff Naomi and Rachel were very friendly and helped me choose a very quiet room at the end of the hallway on the second floor. They also recommended a delicious restaurant. The room was spacious, and while there was no air conditioning, the heating in the living room was more than sufficient. The water pressure for the shower was great, and even the room had three trash bins. And the hotel is right in the city center, allowing parking until 4 PM the next day. The next day, I was able to take care of everything by walking, without needing to drive out and find another parking spot. It couldn't have been more perfect. It was a very satisfying stay, and I will definitely return.
I stayed 2 nights. The apartments were very close to my work. There was a short cut through a carpark to get to James Cook lifts - very handy as the alternative walk was uphill and not so great when carrying a bad or you have a head wind. Very clear instructions for late check in. Staff at reception were all smiling and happy! The room was perfect, beautifully clean and nice and quiet. I'd definitely stay again. Noteworthy details: Very close to CBD. But quiet!
I cannot rate this place high enough from the minute I checked in until the very minute I checked out. The staff were always so kind and helpful in every possible way. I stayed here for 3 weeks after being in hospital for 3 months i still had outpatient appointments along with a newborn baby. The staff were always so kind and helpful to my midwife and other people who were coming to see us. I would highly recommend Gilmer Apartment Hotel based on the staff, the price the location and the amazing rooms that have everything you need! Thank you for having us
What a great find. Very clean and comfortable hotel apartment. We booked a 1-bedroom apartment just for 1 night and there were 2 big beds in the room, with a separate lounge and dining. Comes with a kitchenette and even a washing machine. So handy to everything with Lambton Quay just a few minutes walk away. Customer service was excellent. They immediately booked us on the ground floor when I mentioned mum had mobility issues. Will definitely stay here again
We arrived at Gilmer Apartments to a warm welcome. It was very easy to exit the motorway at the Terrace and parking was available. Our room was very spacious with a very well equipped kitchenette and washing machine. The heating was adjustable to our requirements. We stayed for 3 nights and would definitely return. Well done Gilmer apartments. Another bonus is that it’s central to the hub of Wellington shopping. We walked through the Travel Lodge next door and down in the lift to Lambton quay. Access back on to the Motorway was very easy too.
We had the Best time staying at this hotel. Very friendly staff in all areas of service. Beautiful spacious well appointed rooms. COMFY bed!!! Big thick towels. Great shower. Wanted to stay 2 nights but a plane emergency rerouted our plane to Auckland so I wasn’t able to stay one of the nights. Was still charged for that night. The washer in my unit leaked and the dryer didn’t work. The bed was very comfortable and the unit was clean.Rooms: 4/5
The location is superb, right in the heart of the city, making it incredibly convenient to explore all the main attractions and eateries. The room was clean, modern, and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, including a comfortable bed, a small kitchenette, and free Wi-Fi. I especially appreciated the kitchenette, which allowed me to prepare light meals during my stay. There is a laundry area also inside the room which is very convenient. The staff were friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any requests . Check-in and check-out were seamless, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was welcoming and relaxed. I would definitely recommend the Gilmer Hotel to anyone visiting Wellington, whether for business or leisure. Extremely quiet central location. The apartment is superb, clean and spacious. Washing machine, kitchen with all amenities, comfy bed, easy chairs, dining table and chairs. large shower room, nice toiletries. Staff friendly & helpful. We'll be back. Nearby activities: Close to dozens of good restaurants, shopping, and supermarkets. Te Papa museum, cable car, Parliament and many other attractions.
