Garden Restaurant

I miss going to this place excitedly, back in the day, my goodness the counters were absolutely packed if different varieties of foods, but now, all you see is the empty counter spaces, the food are spread out to occupy some space on the benches but still looks very empty. Going there last week for my son's birthday dinner as this is his fave buffet restaurant, it was sad to see not many food options on the counter, desert cupboards were almost empty. Please put out more food options, the price definitely isn't worth the lack of options!

Went in just before 8pm on Friday and was $42.50. Buffet finished at 9pm after I asked a wait staff. Went and got a pint of soda water and cost $6.50. This was the same price for coke or lemonade. I don't mind paying something but that was just crazy. The food was average and not really a lot to choose from for such a big place. Be a good idea to cover the mussels and shrimp, as they looked a bit dry. Have different flavours of tea, not just gumboot. The sticky date pudding and potato bake were pretty tasty. Good at clearing plates away. No hurry to go back there. Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options but would not go there if you are Vegan.

Hands down one of the best and most variety buffers I've been to thoroughly enjoyed really hope we can go back one day!

We liked dining here but lately this has been our worst visit. Fried food has very strong taste of oil, other dishes were tasteless. As we travel into Chch from out of town and the $33 for lunch is not worth it we will not be coming back ever.

I went back for lunch on Wednesday 23rd Novemberwith my friends. It was amazing. The food was yummy. My favorite was the eggplant and also the couscous salad. Overall everything was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere not too stuffy.

This used to be a good place for a buffet feed but the menu has stagnated, there seems less now than before. We relucantly had dinner there as part of a group, for the price it wasn't worth it. Pictures on there website don't seem to match reality, food was bland and not much taste.

First thing I saw was an authentic Run down 1960 decor , cleverly done full marks . The food ??? on offer , turkey , beef , all hard to chew . Pumpkin crunchy , roast potatoes anemic and very sad , all in all really quite disgusting , I tried three platefulls of food which I could not eat . I remember another buffet years ago that served ham on the bone , and beautifull roast veg at Christmas Eve . Very disapointing , very sad , a waste of money and time .
